Panic at the Disco (anteriormente Panic! at the Disco) es un grupo musical formado por Brendon Urie, Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith y Jon Walker, que mezcla sonidos como el Rock, el Big Beat, el Techno o el Indie. Su álbum debut A Fever You Can't Sweat Out vendió más de un millón de copias desde su lanzamiento en septiembre de 2005. En el año 2006 fueron premiados por MTV VMA 2006 por I Write Sins Not Tragedies. Recientemente el vocalista de la banda Brendon Urie declaro rechazar el estereotipo de emo llamandolo the emo is a bullshit (el emo es una pila de mierda).
Historia y primer álbum [editar]Panic at the disco es una banda que empezó con muy poca popularidad. La banda mantiene una fuerte amistad con Fall Out Boy, ya que fue Pete Wentz, bajista de dicha banda, quién los descubrió vía Livejournal un dia que los integrantes (Brendon urie, Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith & Brent Wilson) decidieron dejarle un mensaje a Pete Wentz para que los ayudase a promocionarse en su discográfica. Cuando Pete Wentz recibió el mensaje, viajó de inmediato a Las Vegas para conocer personalmente a la banda, ya que le había llamado mucho la atención el estilo de música que hacían. Fue entonces cuando el mayor golpe de suerte se topó con Panic! at the disco y gracias a Pete Wentz, la banda firmó un contrato Fueled by Ramen, hecho que les dio la oportunidad de grabar su primer álbum: "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" (2005). Éste álbum fue un éxito gracias a canciones cómo "I write sins not tragedies" (galardonada en varias ocasiones, cómo en los VMA 2006 por el "Mejor video del año") Desde entonces su fama ha ido en aumento.
Tambien mantienen una simpatica relación con My Chemical Romance, e incluso llegaron a grabar un tributo a The Smashing Pumpkins. Se planea un dúo entre las dos bandas para que junten "dos estilos únicos que marcarán una época" (Ryan Ross, en una entrevista de Kerrang!).
Panic at the Disco está formada por cuatro jóvenes procedentes de Las Vegas (menos Jon que proviene de Chicago). El vocalista es Brendon Urie, quien también se encarga de la guitarra y el teclado, y que aparte toca instrumentos como el acordeón, el bajo, el piano (entre otros). Ryan Ross se encarga de la guitarra y el teclado, y también es vocalista de acompañamiento. Spencer Smith es el baterísta y Brent Wilson fue el bajista del grupo hasta mitad del año 2006. Su reemplazo oficial y muy conocido es Jon Walker. El cuarteto de Las Vegas ha dividido su trabajo en dos partes: una en la que predominan los ritmos futuristas y los sintetizadores y otra en la que destacan fragmentos acústicos, el piano y el acordeón. Destacan temas como "I Write Sins Not Tragedies", "But It's Better If You Do’, "The Only Difference Between Martyrdom And Suicide Is Press Coverage", "I Constantly Thank God For Esteban" ,"Build God, Then We'll Talk" , "Camisado" , "There's A Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey, You Just Haven't Thought Of It Yet" , "London Beckoned Song About Money Written By Machines" y "Time To Dance".
Recientemente la banda ha atraído una considerable cantidad de publicidad, especialmente después de que la revista Spin los nombrara como banda del momento a principios de octubre de 2005. La banda también ha incrementado su popularidad a causa de su presencia online, con PureVolume teniéndolos constantemente en su Top 10, y alcanzando el #1 en el MySpace Chart.
Cuando A Fever You Can't Sweat Out fue lanzado, debutó en el #112 del Billboard 200 con cerca de 10,000 ventas en la primera semana. La banda comenzó su primera gira por los Estados Unidos como teloneros de Acceptance, Hellogoodbye y The Academy Is en septiembre de 2005, así como del mismo modo fueron teloneros de The Academy Is en el Reino Unido en enero del 2006.
Panic at the Disco se presentó en vivo en el TRL de MTV el 17 de enero de 2006, en donde además presentaron el videoclip de I Write Sins Not Tragedies. El vídeo se colocó en los primeros lugares de los charts alrededor del mundo. Además es fue uno de los videos más vistos en YouTube, habiendo sido reproducido más de cinco millones de veces.
El 17 de mayo de 2006, la banda anunció en su sitio web oficial ([2]) que el bajista Brent Wilson se separaría de la banda. Afirmado por el mismo vocalista Brendon Urie, debido a que el ex-bajista Brent Wilson no tocó en el video "I Write Sins Not Tragedies". Después se anunció que el bajista temporal de la banda durante su gira de verano sería Jonathan Walker, un viejo amigo del grupo. De acuerdo a MTV News, la banda y Wilson han iniciado una guerra de declaraciones, con Wilson diciendo que fue separado de la banda sin ningún aviso mientras la banda dice que la separación fue una decisión tomada entre todo el grupo cosa que parece ser la verdad. Como respuesta a las declaraciones de Wilson, la banda ha dicho que él no escribió ninguna canción y que en realidad ni siquiera tocó el bajo en la grabación de su álbum debut.
El 31 de agosto de 2006 recibieron el premio por "Mejor vídeo del año" en los MTV Video Music Awards por "I Write Sins Not Tragedies", y fueron nominados a 4 categorías y presentación en vivo, Panic! at the Disco demostró ser una de las más destacadas bandas emergentes del 2006.
Hicieron un cover de la canción This is Halloween de la película The Nightmare Before Christmas para la edición especial, en el cual también participaron artistas como Fall Out Boy, Fiona Apple y She Wants Revenge.
Panic at the Disco agrada entre las comunidades jóvenes ya que sus trabajos son muy completos y atraen a las comunidades juveniles. También su gran amistad con Fall Out Boy y My Chemical Romance les ha valido una mayor apreciación a pesar de que los integrantes recién tienen 20 años de edad.
Los chicos de Patd se caracterizan por sus excelentes covers, entre los cuales se encuentran: "Karma Police" de Radiohead, "Tonight tonight" de Smashing Pumpkins también "Killer Queen" de Queen y "Eleanor Rigby" de The Beatles.
Su nuevo álbum "Pretty Odd" salio el 25 de marzo del 2008 y su primer single es Nine in the afternoon, cuyo video es dirigido por Shane Drake , fue grabado el video con el mismo director de "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" y "But it's better if you do".El single puede ser escuchando en la pagina de Youtube.

En el instituto Vengeance era un jugador de béisbol con mucho talento y asegura que si no estuviera en Avenged Sevenfold hubiera escogido ser jugador de béisbol. También practicaba el skateboarding pero lo dejó por su vocación musical.Zacky es zurdo, lo contrario que Synyster Gates (guitarrista líder) lo que hace que en los conciertos sea algo muy visual. Es de procedencia medio italiana medio alemana. Tiene un hermano llamado Matt y una hermana llamada Zina. Posee un perro llamado Ichabod Vengeance. Tiene 5 piercings y un gran numero de tatuajes entre los cuales destaca el de la Virgen María con una mano de un esqueleto debido a que fue el primero que se hizo en el brazo. Tiene escrita la palabra Vengeance en la espalda seguido del numero 7.

El padre de synyster es músico experimentado, y ha sido músico de sesión para Frank Zappa y puede ser oído en el solo acústico en Sidewinder así como otras varias pistas en City of evil.
En el video de musica de Fall out boy 'This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race' Joe Trohman puede ser visto tocar la guitarra como Synyster Gates en el video 'Seize the Day' arriba de un ataud. Sin embargo, esto no es un tributo a Slash de Guns N' Roses(Ahora Velvet Revolver)
